Merry Christmas

I hope everybody had a great Christmas. We were in the holiday spirit (and drinking the holiday spirits) from Hollywood to Cincinnati, visiting with good friends and family everywhere. We are blessed.

Everything was super, and then the last day we got pounded with snow. This is beautiful and magical, until you have to shovel your parents’ driveway, and then you get stuck at the airport Marriott for a night because of the weather. I like to think of this as a little reminder from the newborn baby Jesus as to why I live in Southern California. Amen.

Everybody in Ohio asks me if people decorate their houses for Christmas in LA, as if moderate temperatures and colored bulbs are mutually exclusive. So, this is what our house looked like before I took everything down last week (above). We always do the old-fashioned bulbs around the roofline, and this year we added the snowballs. Albert thinks it looks like the Glendale Galleria, so I have a feeling we’ll be lighting our backyard arbor with them next year….if it’s not too hot out.
